Match Day Operations Changes

Postby TerracingTomas » Mon Jul 08, 2019 1:59 pm

From the Club offical site. Doesnt affect me unless I went for hospitality one day.

Match Day Operations Changes

Going forward there will be some changes made to our match day operations within the stadium.

From tonight (8th July 2019), Those entering or leaving the stadium via the the front doors will be strictly players, officials and disabled supporters. Fans coming to the hospitality lounge & those attending pre-match bar will enter through the front doors however, they will be met by a guide to take them to the lounge.

Toilets within the first-floor main landing are strictly for players, officials, hospitality guests and disabled support, Thus meaning ANY supporters wishing to use the bathroom will use our toilets pitch-side.

These changes have been made by our match-day operations team to ensure the building is managed to a secure manner on the day of a game.

We understand this a big change for some people, however, going forward the front entrance and main landing will be off limits unless wearing an AAA pass.

I am a season ticket holder and went into the MacArthur suite at each and every home game. Disappointed with the club’s approach here, so Tap Room it’ll be for me from now on. My young daughter loved going before each game, so she’s particularly disappointed.
Silly decision.

This looks to be operationally unenforceable. A cohort of guides to escort people as and when they turn up, & then needing a pee when spending some dosh in the lounge bar??

We don't even need facial recognition cameras as most of us know each other, if not by name, by visual looks, so should be able to spot any mad bomber who has sneaked in the Main Door before the game.

Those who have dreams up this plan, please expand on how it will all actually work!!

MI5 agents will be sporadically placed around the Main Stand Entrance.
At the first sign of any unauthorized person/persons (without an AAA badge) a strategically placed drone will descend and fire a tranquilizer dart into the suspects for easy arrest and interrogation.
Enjoy the match.

Is this April 1st? Surely this cannot be serious. I am all in favour of having good security, but this is just ridiculous. So, a guide is going to meet you and escort you to the bar? How many guides will there be? What if several people arrive at the same time - do they have to wait for the guide to come back? Is the guide going to sit with you in case you need to go to the toilet, and if so, escort you there too to make sure that you don't use the reserved ones? As someone has said, the likely outcome is that people will find it not worth the hassle, and go to a pub instead.

In addition, this message is very badly written, and is frankly an embarrassment to the club. This has also been the case with several previous announcements. Surely it must be possible to find a literate person to compose items for the website.

Don't know why anybody is getting there knickers in a twist about this. They're asking you to use another toilet! Big deal. I've no idea how they will supervise this, but don't see the big hassle.

Whole thing reads like a McGowan statement and not the Media Department.

Common sense approach here is the folk using the bar pre match should also be allowed to use the toilets nearby while imbibing in the bar.Once the game starts, then it should change and no one apart from the aforementioned to exit the Main Door at the cessation of the game.

“Whole thing reads like a McGowan statement and not the Media Department.”

Agree. Makes about as much sense as employing dogs trained to sniff out tobacco to search for drugs in the toilets. Not that they’d be daft enough to suggest that !!!

To be honest, I couldn't care less as I never go to the bar before or after a game, but I expressed my concern simply because of the fact that both the content of the statement, and the way it is written make the club look really silly. In other words, very bad PR.

To answer some of the questions posed here and on social media.

For those entering the Pre-Match bar there is to be a member of staff positioned at the top of the stairs to ensure everyone going to the to the McCarthy & McArthur suite is aware of which direction they are going, There has been reported instances of fans going to the 2nd floor hospitality areas, Fans attending the Pre-Match bar will be able to use the toilets at the top of the stairs within the stadium and this applies to gold club season book holders.

For half time those wishing to use the toilet must use the trackside toilets & at full time only players, officials & disabled supporters or those with AAA passes will be permitted entry to the main landing (This applies to half time also) within the stadium all other supporters must exit via the gates at either end of the main stand.

These decisions have been made in line with a review of the safety and security operation on match-days.

Updated - Gold season ticket holders will be able to use the main landing to access the suite at half time.

I suppose these new regulations are in preparation for the signings of Paul Pogba and Wilfried Zaha.
That's perfectly understandable.
Don't want ordinary punters mixing with the Accies A List players do we?

Thanks for clarification Accies FCSLO. I hope the same ‘thorough’ review of safety and security is applied to old firm games and the presence of their supporters amongst home fans a presence. Such a review I’m assuming will focus on the behaviour and training of gate stewards. For their benefit celtic fans wear green and white scarfs and rangers fans red white and blue and hiding their colours inside their jacket is not a suitable response  ;)

Apparently the 22 year old who was apprehended inside Buckingham Palace at 2 am this morning was doing a dry run for storming the McCarthy /McArthur suite.
