As others say above Sowah at the moment is a better option than some of those playing this season like Easton or Want.

He was playing well then Rice dropped him for McMann and it took him a while for him to get back inla the side and when he did it was in central defence where he and Ziggy seemed to be a two man defence at Paisley.

Fwiw,I can't believe we haven't tried Stanger in central defence-not right wing back where he is like a fish out of water.

23 year old keeper signed on loan from Reading until January. I wonder if he can play central defence ?

Fulton’s injury must be worse than originally thought.

Or they have decided that Fon Williams is a better artist than he is a keeper

Alan Stubbs son loan deal?

https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/ ... sfer-news/

Not had much first team football - we really need some experienced quality central defenders and not just a lad at 20 on a development loan.

Confirmed as signed, he will fill the void left by McKennas injury. I'm sorry there already was a void before it and another young inexperienced player from down south isn't cutting it, if that's the plan, play our own boys and stop developing youngsters from English clubs. Everyone can see it, we need experienced centre halfs, if we are not prepared to do that, then play our boys for development. Utter nonsense, said it on here weeks ago, I was worried, not getting any better.

That makes our 12th summer signing, not counting the boy Forrest who signed for the development squad. Of the 12 only 4 are ‘seasoned’ professionals viz Easton, Alston, Williams and Hunt. Of these 4, Easton looks as though he will be plagued with injury, Alston cant work miracles on his own, and Williams and Hunt have hardly inspired confidence. The other 8 are largely untried at this level and consist of 3 loan signings, a boy from the national league south, 2 from american college soccer via falkirk and new zealand, will collar who has made one bench appearance and Gourlay who appears to be third choice keeper. With a number of high earning departures last season e.g Ziggy, Imrie etc this look like a squad built on the cheap. Maybe the scam hurt us more than is being admitted

Not really a summer transfer but not worth a separate topic:-

Hamilton have brought in Jimmy Bone as a specialised striker coach to try to get more goals from a side who were the lowest scorers in the Scottish Premiership last season. (Daily Record, print edition)

Well, with a 70th birthday in five weeks, Jimmy Bone has certainly been round very many clubs in his career, but not sure what difference he can make to our strike force. Maybe the legs have not yet gone?

Actually that sounds like a good move to me. Rice knew how to find the net himself but Jimmy Bone was an out and out striker.
This seems like it's a progressive move to me.

From the Club’s twitter feed:-

“Forward Steven Boyd, 22, has moved on after five years at NDP in which he scored 5 goals in 65 appearances. He goes with our thanks and good wishes.”

Wondered what had happened to him timed with the Motherwell game tomorrow and his iconic goal last season.
Starting 11 in Rice’s first Accies team selection then gradually dropped from the squad.
Good technical player who should do very well in the lower leagues.

Already failed at livi when playing at a lower level so I doubt it. Awful player stole a wage for too long.

“Hamilton have signed Adrian Beck on loan.

The German midfielder has joined Accies on an initial deal until January.

The 22-year-old comes in from Belgian Second Division side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

Beck trained with his new team-mates this morning.

Accies head coach Brian Rice has been tipped off about Beck by one of his many contacts.

Beck came through the ranks at Hoffenheim and since then has had spells in his homeland at Neckarsulum and Ulm.”

Well we were looking for someone to strengthen the midfield. Fingers crossed he’s the creative guy we need. Accies twitter says a season long deal, the above from the Record says till January.

Strange one. Playing in German fifth and fourth tier until recently and doesn't seem to have played much in the Belgian second.

From Daily Record

Ali Crawford is set to join Bolton Wanderers.
The former Hamilton midfielder has agreed a one-year deal with the English League One outfit.
Wanderers have only just come out of administration and were only saved from possible liquidation last week.
They have since had their signing embargo lifted and that has allowed Crawford to make the switch from Doncaster Rovers.
The 28-year-old move to Rovers last season but has fallen out of favour with new manager Darren Moore.
New Wanderers boss Keith Hill is now set to make Crawford one of his first signings.
