Better times...

Was raking through my pile of old match day programmes looking for Raymond McGuigan stuff - see General Discussion thread - and came across this beauty from days gone by. We won that match 2-1 and went on to beat Ayr United in the final. Good memories, and what a team we had back then!

Anyone remember the 5-4 away win v Alloa in the dead of winter the year we first went up to the premier. 3 accies pitch invasions and a separate pitch invasion from Fergie to question the referee. Came back from 4-2 down. HAFSWO bus was stowed that day.
By the way someone on twitter reporting that Canning is to go tomorrow!

We live in hope. But why wait until the transfer window is just about to close

Fergie questioning a referee decision, find that hard to believe

The only place he’s going is the Championship sadly with the first team!

I've also got a press picture of the police leading Accies fans off the pitch when we won the league at Shawfield that season (despite a 4-2 defeat we couldn't come back from but our rivals lost). I'm in the picture + loads of others. I'll see if I can work out how to post it

I remember the Alloa game well.
The Alloa winger Frankie Cole (who I'd been telling my mates for ages we should sign) had a blinder but what a Wurzel inspired comeback from Accies.
Anything was possible for that team.
Contrastingly, nothing is possible for the current lot.

I can remember when we started the HASH Fanzine and the two Billy's agreed to an Interview with us at the old Douglas Park.

The Accies fan who looks like that Ross Greer MSP(Churchill's biggest fan)proceeded to knock the B&Q Cup flying off Billy McLaren's desk only for one of those in attendance to produce a flying save the great Rikki Ferguson would have been proud of.

Great times watching a swashbuckling team.
