Martin Canning

Postby porcupine » Thu Dec 27, 2018 4:05 pm

Heard a rumour a couple of weeks back that our 'esteemed' manager had until the Motherwell game to show he had the capabilities to remain in his job. Saturday is but three days away!!

Even allowing a possible win against a weakened 'Well team, is there anyone out there who still supports his tactics, style of play, entertainment value and his motivational skills, both on the pitch, and on TV interviews?

What are we saying yes to stay or go? Sorry I’m stupid but didn’t want to vote the wrong way ! Anyway Ithink most of us have read that rumour Don’t believe it. I’m betting on him being here for his 4th year anniversary in January withAccies media celebrating like it was a magnificent achievement which it is considering his record.

Yes it will need to be edited to stay, go, stay if beat smell, stay if safe by Easter.
If so I say (with regret) go from manager position now.

Can’t think of a single reason why he should still be in the job .

Yes means he goes.
And a No vote means he goes also.

Thanks Admin, as you will have guessed, it was a first poll attempt by me. What chance you can edit YSYM's vote? :D

Still surprised that there are three 'Yes' votes, excluding YSYM's, but that might include SF's double vote?

Meantime, sorry for confusion. Tomorrow night at 5pm onwards might well prove interesting

I'll turn on re-voting for this poll. It will allow folks who have already voted to change their vote.

For anyone in any doubt about how good a manager Canning is, here is his record for 2018

Season 17/18 Played 17 Won 3 Goals for 17 Against 34

Season 18/19 Played 21 Won 4 Goals for 14 Against 43

TOTALS Played 38 Won 7 Goals for 31 Against 77

Win percentage of 18%

Crowds are down considerably and will continue to slide, less than a goal a game, a defence with more holes than Rab C Nesbitts vest and atrocious football

Someone please explain why this guy is still in charge, its beyond me

It's noticeable there seems to be no-one who continues defending the indefensible on here. His overall record is laughable with a win ratio of 26% [P175, W45, D39, L91, For 204 Against 308] while his league win ratio falls to 23% [P146, W33, D37, L76, For 147, Against 251]. I would suggest there are more people who could improve the team than could make it worse than it currently is !

Continually surrendering, plodding negativity and no plan B means that it is only due to the horrific records of St Mirren and Dundee that we are not cut adrift, but I fully expect that to change in the coming months. I'd love to say that its been good while it lasted, and there have certainly been a few high points, but there have been more low points and the time to change is now. Hopefully.

eta : Just read his after match comments on the BBC website - "Hamilton manager Martin Canning: "To take the lead and not hold it for more than five minutes is crucial. I thought we were comfortable and we've lost it from two set-pieces into the box." Eh? Eh? WTF game was he watching cause it certainly wasn't the one I was at. Buffoonery of the highest order !!
On the outskirts of nowhere, on the ring road to somewhere, on the verge of indecision, I'll always take the roundabout way.
