Lyon gone

Postby TerracingTomas » Thu Aug 09, 2018 12:35 pm

Darren Lyon has had his contract terminated by mutual consent. Wish him the best but at 23 he has had more than enough time to establish himself. Never seemed likely. Not even sure that he would shine in the championship.

Yeah echo these sentiments.^
Not sure about not being good enough for the Championship though.

Grant Gillespie did a lot more for us and he's now in League One. Hope the lad can find a decent club though. We will always look back fondly at his goal at Ibrox as well as the absolute screamer at Dens.

Interview with Darren in Daily Rangers, not too sure what he is on about though or what his intentions are

Seems to suggest that he wanted the move so he can play in his preferred position. I suspect he also realised that it just wasn’t going to happen for him at Accies.

Darren signs for Peterborough. Great move for him. Pity the manager sees him as a right back or wingback

Good move for him but I find the whole right back thing totally confusing given he wanted away because he was being played out of position. Either that or he has just used it as an excuse to get accies to rip his contract up cos his agent had this lined up.

That's what I was thinking.

And therfore no fee or monies due to Accies, either now or in future with any sell-on clause, if he does well in English football. Crafty?

Another one in League One. We must be close to being able to pick an ex-Accies XI from that division!
