Predictions for this season

Postby smc4761 » Sun Jul 29, 2018 6:19 pm

After our shocking results in the league cup, again, its going to be a long hard season. I feel sorry for you poor souls who have purchased a season tickets having to watch the dross to come. Our initial fixtures are not going to help either and unless we get a few decent results in the first 6 games of season its goodnight Vienna, and back to our true level as a wee diddy club.

H-----HEARTS
A-----WELL
A-----CELTIC
H-----ST JOHNSTONE
A-----LIVINGSTON
H-----ST MIRREN

Think if we get 5 points for those 6 games we will be doing well. Hope Im wrong, but based on what has gone on before, Cannings appalling win ratio

Anyone else

Im not a doom monger for the sake of it. However based on the rebuilding of the team and what we have seen, my realistic opinion is that we will have somewhere between 8-11 points by Christmas and will be straight relegated. Hope Im wrong but years of watching have brought reality.

All that being said, I will at least go and support the team and not get my knickers in a twist over our small team losing a bunch of matches against better teams. The club actually do pretty well.

I’d accept the Cup exit gladly if we get a point against Hearts in our opening game.
I’ll start judging the squad once the important games start, not preseason betfred cup games.
I predict we’ll stay up, but possibly only after winning the play-off again.

I boldly predict that Canning will prove again how bad a manager he really is,with the difference this time being his luck will finally run out.
Relegated by Xmas.

Last season we scored 10 in the group stages but conceded 6. This time round we have scored 5 but only conceded 2. I know where I think the problems will be going into the season. ive a bit more confidence in this years defenders than those calling for sarris or tomas to comeback but unless we suddenly pull a rabbit out of the hat in the shape of a midfielder who can unlock defences and a reliable goalscorer its going to be another hard season. The first 6 games are going to shape the season.

Jim McIntyre to replace Canning after we lose the first six games.

You may laugh, but folk said Billy Reid would never be sacked too.

I'd rather go with Imrie than McIntyre(who has a bad rep.amongst Ross County fans/players/officials) if push came to shove.

I'd rather have Michael McIntyre.
That way we'd be replacing one comedian with another.

Imrie, another untired manager promoted from within, unsackable unless potentially we lose many games in a row vs a manager who won a cup with a bottom six side. I reckon County now regret his sacking.

1) County finished top six the season they won the cup.

2) McIntyre had a budget that would dwarf what he'd have at Accies.

3) If we get a new manager, it'll be Imrie.

Before a ball is kicked we are already doomed by many of our own supporters, contrary to pundits who have as out of the bottom 2 for the first time since promoted. The reason given for us to stay up by many outside our club, is Canning.
Even if we stay up yet again we will start next season with the same shout Canning out, what's the point in staying up?
If Canning leaves watch us drop through the leagues but at least we can enjoy our football again, 4-0 at Forfar then in with the big boys of the then first division. Promotion at home to Clyde, feeling good. Victory at Easter Road then at Celtic Park.
Last season, something I thought I would never see victory at Ibrox, first time in league in our lifetime. Joy--- No Canning out.
Is there anything reasonable we can do this season to get all our support behind team & manager?

1) Had a feeling they were, but point is, they were a perennial bottom six side and he managed them to a cup win.

2) True, doesn't mean he'd never take a job on where the budget is small.

3) God help us!

Aye I know a guy who manages the Under 17's to the League-undefeated at that "God help us".

Imrie will more than likely be The next Manager. His track record-albeit at under 17 level-is impressive and worthy of praise.
