Now there's a surprise.... Rangers looking to loan out former Accies player who is on a four and a half year contract with them. How many of us predicted that he would get little or no game time with them?

Sad that the supposed image of Rangers being such a "big club" that lads can't see the real picture when tempted to move to them. Of course, the move came at a particularly good time for Accies financial problems so we should not be too unhappy, so along as the final payments are made on time by RFC?

And we certainly could not afford the wages, even back on loan to us. Meantime, what a waste of a talent.

Why shouldn't the final payments be made on time by Rangers?
There are no reasons whatsoever that it shouldn't be.
They seem to have plenty of funds available , spending £3m on the lad from Brighton.£1m on Murphy.
And a hefty loan fee to Roma etc.
If Accies don't have everything legally water tight then that's tough titty.

He made 11 appearances for them last season and was said by some to be a future Rangers captain. At one point did the then Rangers coach not say he was "trying too hard” or words to that effect!! I saw he was on the bench for the first rangers european tie this season and wondered how he would fare under the new Rangers management regime now we have the answer. I assume he will go down south, Alex Neil’s Preston perhaps?

Or Jack Ross's Sunderland

Sunderland is the word.

Could be good for us. If he does well for them, they may want to make it a permanent transfer, and we'll take a cut of the fee.

Shame they couldn't consider lending him back to us - he'd walk into our current team.

That's hardly a glowing reference.
My 9 year old son would walk into that midfield.

watched some the Rangers games on TV that he played in and thought overall he was the stand out midfielder for them, of course that might not be saying much. he played well and certainly looked the part

Think AN would be happy to take him to Preston which would be a good move for both

All the Rangers fans I’ve spoken to today have been annoyed by this decision, as they felt he was one of the best young players at the Club and always showed commitment. They’d rather see Greg playing for the jersey than some loanee from Liverpool.
Seems a strange decision, considering he was modelling the new tops last week.

Part of the problem we’ve got is we bring through a player who’s one of the first names on the teamsheet, he’s with us from the age of 10 and yet he still considers Rangers his team and is desperate to go there to sit on the bench and model tops...and get paid a lot more, I suppose!

Could be in his best interest to go to Sunderland or Preston, get some games and experience football outwith the West of Scotland bubble.

See the lad is off to Shrewsbury Town on a season long loan. Bit of a comedown for him.

Should we be concerned that Rangers are buying all these players from numerous clubs for decent fees, 1-3 million in so cases. Where are they getting money from? This time last year they were skint. We are obviously still owed a fair amount in transfer fee, will we ever see it

As already mentioned, why wouldn't we received the money owed?

Thres already been a topic on this, last post only 20 July. Can you tag this onto that thread, Admin??

Comment from smc are valid however. Shrewsbury (the team I've always wanted to play for?)
v the Mighty Glasgow Rangers. Can't have done much for GD's confidence. However, he took the pot of gold so he has to get on with it!
As long as we are fully paid up on the original deal. Ronnie said 2/3rds paid up front at the last fans forum + 20% sell-on clause.

As I said, mentioned previously.

Listening to his Rangers daft Dad/family and not using the noggin has led him to where he is;a level below both the clubs he played for last season.

If he had used the aforementioned noggin, stayed at Accies and performed great during the second half of last season,he would have probably got a £million move to The English Championship at the very least.

Hopefully, our other youngsters have watched this and taken note that jumping ship to The Old Firm at the first opportunity is not the best move for career development.

Currently speaking to Hull City but Rangers have made it clear no further loan deals. If they get the right offer he is out the door. Shame for the boy he got his dream move but its not worked out. Perhaps he can resurrect his career but had he stayed a year more with us he might have got a better move that saw him playing first team football certainly at English Championship level. Mind you Accies were desperate to help him out the door to recoup the scammed million
