Some signings which could go either way due to their inexperience.

Fwiw, we should be signing a couple who know what the League is about a la your Ziggy's,/Taiwo's rather than placing all our hopes on guys who have played reserve football most of their careers.

I worry when I read pressure put on the boy Smith to replace Temps as this is not a like for like replacement and if it is it is a lot to place on a young man's shoulders with negligible first team experience at any level.

These guys will also need to get used to the football up here as well,so there are no guarantees but good signings IF supplanted by experience such as ideally Temps and perhaps Lawless.

McGowan is the one I really want as we need an established up and coming right back and he fits the bill with over 100 first team games-here's hoping.

I suppose it’s the same with all signings. English Premiership teams have spent millions on established players who don’t deliver. But I agree I would like to see a couple more like Gordon to give the squad more experience. Dougie is done over 90 minutes and should be a sub for most games. But the real positives is evidence of a proper thought out recruitment strategy targeting the English lower leagues, experienced scottish players and supplemented by the loan market. Looking forward to the league cup games.

We were bound to bring in a few signings given the number of players who left during 17/18 and at the end of the season. So that's a work-in-progress now, and good to see - the alternative doesn't bear thinking about, with youngsters promoted too soon and demoralised by defeats and relegation.

It's been great seeing the way the club is professionally managing communications around the signings. A big improvement on the way we've done things in the past, and definitely to be welcomed.

The quality of the signings so far is uncertain, but it's certainly not the "Eurotrash" some have complained about. 4 signings in the last 24 hours, all British, 1 of them experienced in Scottish football. And without counting chickens, hopefully Ziggy rejoining, who also fits the latter category.

We're plugging the obvious gaps: Penny replaces Tomas; Taiwo replaces Docherty/Ferguson; Smith replaces Crawford/Redmond; Ziggy would replace Skondras. Only time will tell how many of those are upgrades. Bloomfield is interesting, as we already have a few strikers, so presumably this is an attempt to improve quality (and I'd guess at least one of Rojano/Bingham will leave). I'd like to see another central defender sign, and another midfielder, and the icing on the cake would be the return of Temps, although I don't expect that.

Let's see how we shape up once the season's underway, but I'm a lot more optimistic than I was before this round of recruits was announced.

Sam Kelly looks to be a decent signing, played 49 times for Port Vale, of English league 1, so a decent level.

I am impressed the way the team are going about their business this year makes a change from the shambles of last few years

12 games last season for a side nearly relegated to The Conference and not exactly glowing reviews leaves this one in the "underwhelmed" category.

I only hope we haven't replaced Euro dross with English lower league bargain basement journeymen dross...only time will tell.

BBC are saying that Ziggy has already signed and we have 7 new players. If we have 1 more and Ziggy hasn’t been announced, is it him or Aaron McG?
This excitement is unbearable!!!

The club have to be applauded, they have obviously invested a fair amount of cash to try and push the club to the next level

Let’s hope most of the signings turn out to be gems. The icing on the cake would be temps re-signing.

Can’t wait for season to start

He was just big boned.
And scheidt into the bargain.
At long last Accies seem to be getting it right with the calibre of signings.
MacGowan looks a great signing.

McGowan should be a good signing, happy with all so far.
Hopefully that’s the defence sorted out with Penny, McGowan (and Ziggy), Tiawo organising the midfield and Smith and Kelly providing the creativity we need for Bloomfield (sounds like a Bond villain) to score.
Looking forward to the season starting.

Eight new signings, many of whom have some pedigree &/or experience, BEFORE the season starts??? Must be a record for Accies. Looks a really positive move forward for the Club, and all of us supporters. Like many, roll on the new season.

Hit the vino after the kelly announcement so enjoying myself too much too respond to Mcgowans’ arrival. Assuming Ziggy and Sowah are with the squad and will be announced in due course then I dont expect to here any more at least until they return. 8 signings is good and dont forget the boy from stirlng albion and the spaniard so we must be getting to a near full squad by our standards. I know we off loaded a few but I wonder if we have loosened the purse strings on the player budget a little for this season? Heavens knows we seem to have overcome the fraud and there is still the ferguson compen to come and last years euro money for celtic qualifying.

It's good to see a bit of positivity on the Forum for a change.

We don't know too much about some of the players we've signed and in the past some of our signings have not turned out the best for us but at least this time we seem to have signed young guys with hunger something to prove plus a bit of experience in Taiwo and the return of the Ziggmeister , who for me would be a perfect captain.

Bearing in mind that I think Mickel Miller could be the new Templeton this season ,things are looking a lot rosier all round ,mind you I'd be happy if Temps wanted to re-sign for us ;)

The Accies TV is a great thing and looking forward to see the players being put through their paces in Marbella , are there any sand dunes there? :D

Another 2 getting announced at 5 and 6pm.

Second will be Ziggy and 1st probably Sowah.

By my reckoning we will have lost about a dozen since Xmas and that will be 8 coming in so maybe room for 1 or 2 more.
