I suppose we shouldn't really be surprised, but I didn't see that one coming.

I guess Alex knows what he's getting, and probably has a fair idea of the extent of Devlin's injury problems. I hope Mikey overcomes them and goes on to make a name for himself down there.

Surely this means we'll bring in a centre half? We're one injury/suspension away from struggling to field a defence.

Mikey's best getting himself away from our awful pitch. Didn't expect him to get such a good move but good luck to him.

Weirdly, Preston appear to be denying the Devlin story.

From their Twitter account, @pnefc:

"Preston North End can confirm that contrary to reports north of the border there is no agreement in place with regards to Hamilton’s Michael Devlin. #pnefc"

No contract has been signed, he's been given permission to go down there and discuss. VERY strange that HAFC would put this on the website, considering the cloak and daggers style secret signing style they employ.

Looks like, for the umpteenth time, we appear to be amateurish in our method of dealing with what should be a professional approach to business.

Thought Marios Ogboe looked good last night, a target man who can win a header.. been crying out for that for some time! Crazy to thing he is only 23 years old.

Jack- can you provide one example where he missed badly last night? He only had sight of goal once, and his shot was on target but blocked. Some folk seem to find the negative in everything.

That being said - last night was pretty awful. We need another 2 defenders at least.

Could tell by his dreadful first touch and every time the ball came to his feet he wasn’t finding anyone and always taking a wayward first touch. Another player who will just fizzle away.

Could swear he's played for us before??

Accies Twitter account frantically trying to deny we ever let Sarris go....

Crystal Palace came in for Docherty on Wednesday but by this time the Rangers deal was too advanced.
Would have been much better for Greg to go there than that lot.
And would have got a bigger fee too.
Bad move.

Any Accies player who goes to The Old Firm becomes persona non grata in my book. The two Institutions which stop us having a good support.

Even worse when our BOD pander to such Institutions whether it be giving them the favoured end of our fans or selling to them in a Brighthouse buy now,pay later agreement.

Totally right YOH.
Palace wouldn't have blinked at £1m up front plus excellent add ons.
The way the English market is there could have been a relatively quick sell on also.
Every chance of Accies only getting a penny in the pound for this.
Bad move.
Also strange that we didn't encourage a bidding war.
We held all the aces and should have played teams off against each other right up until the last minute for maximum profit.

Yeah well in any other workplace a sacking is normally a sacking but it's the weird world of HAFC we're talking about here.

Mikey Devlin's transfer to Aberdeen has now been confirmed. He's similar to Greg, in that he's a good guy, has done very well for us and will be missed.
He has signed a 3.5 year contract.
