What we need this season

The view from the Scotsman. Why has no one else noticed this?

Such is the fickleness of all football fans - both from those on the terraces and those in media positions - opinion has already changed regarding Hamilton’s position after four games. The Accies were widely tipped to be relegated. But seven points and eight goals later, Martin Canning’s men look stronger than a handful of sides despite doing little in the way of recruitment. They have depth in defence which allows the side to play a back three or back four, while the midfield is as competitive as ever. The only position which perhaps hasn’t been consolidated or strengthened is striker. Despite the eight goals Alex D’Acol hasn’t been replaced. He wasn’t a regular goalscorer but acted as a competent focal point, an out-ball when pressure increased. Rakish Bingham does a fine job offering a threat in behind and running the channels but isn’t as slick with his back to goal. Find a striker who can do that job, while adding seven or eight goals and Hamilton will be a strong proposition.

Suddenly all sorts of punters are back-peddling. Tam McManus is one who tipped us for relegation, but has now changed his mind. And I think either Michael Stewart or Steven Thonson said the same on Sportscene.

Hugh Keevins is definitely the biggest bawbag of the lot.
Him and Chick Young.
Have far more respect for your Derek Johnstone's and your Murdo MacLeod's.
(Although they also spout a lot of pish).
But at least they have played the game at the highest level.
Keevins, Young et all opinions are null and void as far as I'm concerned.
And former referee Willie Miller too.

That's a view I think most accies fans share . Make a couple of decent signings before Thursday and we could have a cracking season .

We have replaced Alex D'Acol. We've signed Antonio Rojano and just awaiting the pigeon's return from Bolivia with the international clearance.

If it turns out to be the same pigeon involved in the Salva Chamorra fiasco they should pull the plug and swoop for Stephen Dobbie of QOS for around 75-100 grand.

either Michael Stewart or Steven Thonson said the same on Sportscene.[/quote]

Steven Thomson continually tips us to lose/get relegated while Michael Stewart seems to have a bit of respect for us and usually refuses to write us off.

I hadn't noticed that pattern. Steven Thomson was very complimentary about Ali Crawford last season (before Ali's traditional mid-season slump) - called him one of the best players in Scotland.

Quite a lot of folk on here tip us to lose every week/get relegated so they can hardly complain when the pundits do it too.

Personally the reason I tip against Accies is solely to not jinx us.
Anyone can feel free to look at my hopelessly pish bookies line every Saturday night to back this up.
I'm quite good at guessing the attendances though.
Only a midgies bawhair from guessing the Killie crowd.
