Predictions for the season

Postby smc4761 » Sun Aug 06, 2017 12:58 pm

I will start this off and going by the general lack of signings, poor season ticket sales and other clubs doing some good business is some cases, its gonna be a long season

Finish in 12th place, with 22 points before the split, too much to do post split and down we go. WE will score very few goals, 24 goals in 33 matches

MC still to be manager by this time next year

Anyone perhaps a bit more optimistic

Next week against Dundee is already potentiality season defining.
We'll have a better idea after that game of our chances of survival, as it's games against Motherwell Dundee and Thistle that will decide it.

Far too soon for gloom and doom. Even if we lose our first home game. Today we lost a difficult away game we were expected to lose. In the worst case scenario, a single home defeat on the back of that is still virtually meaningless.

How do I think we'll do? Probably finish bottom six; probably be battling relegation most of the season. 50-50 whether we stay up. Unless we somehow manage to find a prolific striker - in which case we'll be safe.

The only team in the Premiership not to score in the opening round of fixtures.
Shock, horror.

Lucky to get away with 0-2 with 10.

But Dundee is a huge game as there team I reckon it's between us to go down. McCann an unknown in manager terms so,get him a few defeats and the board will get rid.

Yeah coz their board of directors have balls, unlike ours,
And won't hesitate to act if results necessitate it.
It paid off for them last season, but has no common ground with anything at good old ground hog day HAFC.

I meant the opposite :)
Win and we're three points ahead of Dundee, who'll be anchored at the bottom (pointless) with Thistle and hopefully Motherwell.
Wins will be difficult this season and we'll need as many wins as possible against the other bottom six teams, so this game is very important if not critical to our chances of survival.

Our home record last season was decent and 6th best in league. That is the key to this season. Same again and we should be ok.

Fair enough.
Kind of agree there,if there is a team we could finish above it would be them.

Dundee would be my best option to finish below us, possibly Motherwell too although I think they'll be 10th.
Makes Saturday a very important fixture.

Every season some team collapses unexpectedly. ICT, Dundee United, Hibs. Let's see how results pan out over a few games.

It wouldn't take much for Accies to be as good as,if not better, than the likes of StJohnstone.
Fine margins between top6 and bottom6.
We should certainly have no inferiority complex and as we all know if we had a Moult/Boyce/Doolan/ that would make all the difference but everyone knows it's finding that striker that's the hard bit.
Why not take a chance on Stephen Dobbie of QOS?
Proven experienced and good pro,
Couldn't possibly be any worse than some of the traditional EURO TRASH DROSS.
