Under 17s triumph in Europe

Postby Neilhoodwasmyhero » Mon May 16, 2016 11:19 pm

Well done to the Under 17s for winning the 26th ESMGO Tournament in Gonfreville l'Orcher.France. 8 teams involved, including everybody's new darlings Leicester City (who came last)! We beat Ligue 1 team EA Guingamp in the final on penalties. Well done to George Cairns and the boys, captained by Rico Quitongo. Well done also to Scott Struthers keeping us up to date on the twitter feed, nail-biting stuff!

I concur, an achievement on the back of U20s doing well at the same time.

And some size of a trophy, too, from the pictures. Great to see even more talent coming through the youth system. Hopefully, we can stop buying 'dross' like we did in 2016, and spend the wages on nuturing our up-and-coming Academy boys (& girls).

Well done lads.

And we have beaten Celtic tonight as well and the ethos looks very good this evening.
