Jamie Hamilton looks to be set for a 2 year deal, lets hope he can find the ability we all knows he has got, i'm sure we will see a completely different player under Rankin.

Maybe young Ben Black deserves a place on the bench after his hat trick in a 4-3 win for the U18s at Rangers this afternoon. Ryan One got the other one.

Did Black not also get 1 or maybe it was 2 of the goals at Newmains?
IIRC he took both very well.

Jean-Pierre Tiehi ( pronounced Teehee!) signed for the season on loan from Fulham. A striker! But probably a big raw laddie, only played two senior games on loan to Rodez in the French second tier.

This link gives better details about TeiHi's credentials as a striker. 34 games and 14 goals at u18 level and 40 games and 14 goals at u23.

Hopefully this lad will set the heather on fire.

With Chucky apparently away for a scan and Winter injury prone,I would say we need another striker coming in as it would only leave the new guy and under 18 players of both get injured.

Meanwhile,David Moyo has signed for Barrow I see but without a pre season,I would not expect him to feature prominently for a while yet.

So Effie Ambrose isn’t signing even if he played for an Accies squad last night

https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/loc ... g-27703548

But Rankine says he’s still hopeful of having 2 signings this week if cleared but they won’t be fit to play this Saturday. Is this the same 2 signings he was expecting back on the 18th of July.

So the first of I assume of promised signings. He’s 19 and was released by Newcastle in May so there are no development fee implications as they didn’t offer him a new contract. From their perspective he wasn’t showing enough promise. He’s typical of the players we have been picking up either on loan or on a free. None of them come into the category of experienced that the squad is crying out for. He’s a punt but I wish him the best.

And finally it’s confirmed Jamie has resigned after his agent failed to get him a big move to the likes of Hartlepool. Whatever the boy is a few weeks away from being match fit and has wasted the entire pre season. Change your agent young man if you have any sense.

After putting pen to paper, the 20-year-old said: “I am really pleased to have signed a new contract at this club. I have learned a lot in my time here both on and off the pitch and I want to continue creating special moments with our supporters.

Chucky out for three months which highlights how important it was to sign TWO strikers-at least one proven at this level.

We are now left with Andy Winter who is himself injury prone, the raw 18 year old Tiehi ,16 year old Ryan One(who isn't actually a striker) and young Ben Black from the under 18's.

Tiehi's 20 but clearly not proven himself at any level yet. I remember Ryan's injury, he was receiving treatment and didn't seem to be moving well. We all assumed he'd be taken off at half-time yet he completed the match. Surely a big mistake?

I remember the incident too. Chucky looked very uncomfortable afterwards

No doubt this is part of our new managers learning curve. Realising when it’s sensible to insist taking off a player who is senior enough to know it’s time to save yourself from a much longer time on the treatment table.

Meantime, it is what it is. To paraphrase Richard III, we must be content with Winter making it a glorious Summer!

An attacker and we have paid a fee and Rankin knows him so that’s something.Havent had a look yet to see what Raith fans are saying.

This seems to sum up the Raith fans’ views.

He's not a striker, likes to play on left to cut in and strike with his right foot. Biggest issue is he has no fight about him, doesn't want to get stuck in for a fight which you will need if you're at the wrong end of the table.

Truly comprehensive analysis of Dario. Nice lad, seems to be a pretty solid guy, but also seems to lack a necessary drive. Perhaps the shift will reawaken him for a bit, but just remember his left foot is more useless than Ann Budge.

We will give him a chance. Hopefully Rankin can get the best out of him

Raith fans on Pie and Bovril almost to a man saying is useless most of the time. Plays the occasinal good game but when things are going badly, eg the relagation battle we will be in, he will be worse than useless. Think shitebag was used by more than 1 person

Still its a striker in the door hope Rankin can bring out the best in him

If its on pie and bovril it must be true!!!!. Give the guy a chance! Anytime I've seen him playing against us, I've always thought he looked decent.

So as per Rankins’ post match interview he’s hoping to do a bit of business before the window closes. There will be comings and goings. If we are being ruthless Want and Mimnaugh to be released? Back up keeper needed and still need someone in midfield imo. Can we please have experience and no more punts on other clubs individuals who haven’t made it but we think we can do better?

Want , Mimnaugh , Spence & Virtanen , all their coats must be on shaky nails . We need some seasoned campaigners with league experience not kids
